Young girl wearing a black pirate hat with a skull and crossbones, smiling at the camera in a colorful striped dress. A group of kids in pirate costumes posing together in a classroom photo.

Pirate week was magical.  It was delightful to see the “mateys” use their imagination and creative skills at work and play.  (What is a pirate’s favorite exercise?  THE PLANK!)

Smiling young boy with short blond hair wearing a cream sweater with blue stripes, holding a jar of soil with a lid that has a worm graphic and text on it, likely a classroom worm science project.

Our caterpillars arrived April 24, and we have been observing them daily.  They sure have grown quickly!  We named them!  Please stop by and meet Marigold, Scooby Doo, Lamby, Pirate Patch and Crunchy.  After the chrysalis is formed and hardens our friends will emerge as Painted Lady butterflies!  We will take good care of them in their butterfly habitat for a few days and then release them into the great big world.  God’s handiwork is truly amazing!  I have done this project numerous times with kids over the years and continue to marvel at God’s creative work each time.

With A Thankful Heart,
Miss Lori
