First Lutheran School Mission Statement
The primary purpose of First Lutheran School is to spread God’s message of salvation in Jesus Christ, as it is revealed in the Bible, to the children and families enrolled in our school. We strive to promote enthusiastic, life-long learners, who know Christ, who can think for themselves, work well with others, use their imaginations, and solve problems in creative, kind ways.
Statement of Faith
We Believe –
- Scripture Alone: The Bible is the inspired Word of God. It is His message to all people. The entire Bible points to Jesus as the Savior.
- Grace Alone: People cannot save themselves by their good works or restore themselves to a right relationship with God.
- Faith Alone: God sent His Son, Jesus, into the world. He is both true God and true man. He lived to fulfill God’s law for us, died on the cross to pay the penalty our sins deserved, and rose from the dead so that we might have eternal life. He ascended into heaven, where He now sits at the right hand of the Father to intercede for us.
- We are called as Christians to tell others that the only way of salvation is by faith in Jesus Christ and to show our faith by our deeds of love towards others.
First Lutheran School began as Good Shepherd Preschool in 1979.
